I've started a nighttime routine with Rowan. For the past few nights I've fed him around 7:30 or so. Then at 8:00-ish we take a bath and hop into some PJs. Next, we've done a couple of things. We've read books a couple of nights and he's had a little bite to eat on others. By 9:00, he's usually ready to go to sleep in his bed. Last night, we opted for reading since he had eaten a good amount at dinner. (Side note about reading - It seems like his favorite book right now is The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle. I wonder if it's the bright colors or the subject matter?)
Jeremy and I watched the movie Jumpers after Rowan went to bed. It was tolerably and mildly entertaining. It seemed like there was a lot of stuff missing. Though it wasn't a great movie, the cool thing is that we got the watch the entire thing without interruption. Oh yeah, and we both ate dinner at the same time and didn't feel like we had to inhale our food! Whoa!
I went to bed around 1:00ish. I don't know when Jeremy came to bed. The next thing I know, it's 6:30am. I went to pump and came back to the bedroom to check on Rowan. Guess who was still sleeping. I could hardly believe it. I just knew that Jeremy had gotten up with Rowan at some point in the night. Nope. I could barely contain my disbelief. Could it be...? Has Rowan slept through the night?!
Indeed! I will proclaim it once more, "Rowan has slept through the night!"
I know that one night does not necessarily indicate a pattern, but I'll take it. I feel like singing and none other than Lionel Richie will do. Mama say mama sah ma ma moo sah...
