Blog updates
Jeremy started a photo album for Raleigh. The link is posted in the Photos & Video section to the right. I cleaned up the formatting a little and archived the older photo and video albums. The links are still accessible in the archive section. The password for all albums is the same as it has been.

Rowan the comedian
In honor of Rowan's 26-month birthday I thought I would share some of the funny things he has said and done over the past month.
A few minutes ago in the tub... Rowan put two rinse cups over his chest and said, "I'm pumping milk." He said he was pumping milk for baby Raleigh to drink. I can only imagine the stories he tells at school.
Earlier this evening... I was watching a Friends re-run in which Joey is dressed as Dr. Drake Ramore. Rowan pointed to him and said, "There's a doctor with a stethoscope." I asked him what you do with a stethoscope and he said "chest and back". Then he got a flat spoon from his play kitchen and held it up to his chest. He followed me in to the kitchen and put the spoon stethoscope on my back. How smart is this kid?
I asked Rowan what he wanted to eat for breakfast, giving him the usual options: pancakes, waffles, cereal? He replied that he would like noodles with green beans and some grapes. I am glad to see that I have raised a good eater and an excellent meal planner. :-)
The other night my parents brought us dinner. I had told Rowan that he could have a surprise for dessert. I asked him if he could guess what the surprise would be. I thought he would say birthday cake or ice cream. Instead, he had us all laughing when he said - very excitedly - GRAPES!? Oh, the innocence of children. The surprise was peach cobbler with ice cream but I gave him a few grapes too. How could I not?

And baby makes 4
YAY! Baby 2 is here. Allow me to introduce you to Raleigh Maclaine Miller. I'll try to post photos soon.
Stats
Birthday: April 8, 2010 at 10:47am
Birth weight: 8 lbs. 11 oz.
Length: 21.75"
Raleigh was a full pound and 4 inches longer than Rowan. Everyone at the hospital kept remarking how big she is. She doesn't seem that large to me. Makes me wonder what size babies everyone else is having.
All About Raleigh
What can I say? She's awesome. I think she looks a lot like Rowan did, except she has more hair and it seems darker than his. She's still in that mellow newborn stage and likes to snooze - a lot! I have to do all kinds of tortuous things to wake her up to eat, like take off her blanket, clothes, tickling... I've even gotten out a wet wipe. I feel sorta bad about it, but she has to eat. She's a really great baby and I enjoy her company immensely.
L&D
I had Raleigh via c-section; she was breech just like her brother. You just can't do much else with a transverse presentation. Everything went well for both of us.
Delivery was a much better experience this time around. One weird/interesting thing... There were 2 students observing so my OB felt obligated to tell them what was happening. I think he forgot that Jeremy and I were behind the big blue curtain and could hear his play-by-play commentary. Thank heavens we didn't hear any cussing or other alarming outbursts. :-)
Jeremy got some video footage of them taking her out. I have not watched it yet. This is definitely something for a much later time. I'm not up for viewing my own guts right now.
Big Brother
Rowan has been the sweetest big brother. He seems okay with having a new baby around so far. I think it helps that she can't mess around with his toys. If she did, I think things wouldn't be as peaceful. He is fascinated by the breast pump and Raleigh's belly button. He likes to give her kisses - which totally melts my heart.
Party of Four
So, we're a family of 4 now. It's still a little weird for me to say "I have two children." That sounds so grown up, like something that other people are or do. For now, we're taking things one day at a time. It will be interesting and fun to see what kinds of adventures and learning experiences each week brings.

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter, everyone! I posted some photos we took yesterday at my parents' house for the Easter/Mom's birthday event. The weather was great, the company was good, and the food was delicious. Can't ask for more than that!
Friday we took Rowan to the ER. He had a fever and a rash - kind of scary. He was diagnosed with an viral rash, probably one of the vaguest diagnoses out there. He's doing much better now and will go back to school tomorrow.
I can't believe we're in the final countdown to Baby 2. If all goes according to plan, she'll be here by lunchtime on Thursday. Wow! That leaves me two days to do some last minute cleaning and organizing (with help from Mom - she's awesome).
Stay tuned!

Tick, Tock
So... I have about one week to go. I am so not ready. I could easily do with another 2 weeks, but I will be happy to have one. Please, Baby 2, please don't come early! And, please don't come on April Fool's Day.
I have only two more days left at work. I've completed the major projects that I wanted to and am now just wrapping up loose ends. It's looking like Friday is going to be pretty laid back. That's a nice feeling. I would hate to be rushing around on my last day.
I've had a craving lately for sour, citrusy juice drinks like lemonade, orange juice, and tropical blends. The twangier, the better! I drink ice water throughout the day, but sometimes I am overcome with the need for a citrus beverage. It's terribly interesting to me how the brain interprets what the body needs/wants.
All this typing is making me thirsty! I am off to water fountain... and then to the restroom. Such is my life. (sigh)
