And baby makes 4

YAY! Baby 2 is here. Allow me to introduce you to Raleigh Maclaine Miller. I'll try to post photos soon.

Stats
Birthday: April 8, 2010 at 10:47am
Birth weight: 8 lbs. 11 oz.
Length: 21.75"

Raleigh was a full pound and 4 inches longer than Rowan. Everyone at the hospital kept remarking how big she is. She doesn't seem that large to me. Makes me wonder what size babies everyone else is having.

All About Raleigh
What can I say? She's awesome. I think she looks a lot like Rowan did, except she has more hair and it seems darker than his. She's still in that mellow newborn stage and likes to snooze - a lot! I have to do all kinds of tortuous things to wake her up to eat, like take off her blanket, clothes, tickling... I've even gotten out a wet wipe. I feel sorta bad about it, but she has to eat. She's a really great baby and I enjoy her company immensely.

L&D
I had Raleigh via c-section; she was breech just like her brother. You just can't do much else with a transverse presentation. Everything went well for both of us.

Delivery was a much better experience this time around. One weird/interesting thing... There were 2 students observing so my OB felt obligated to tell them what was happening. I think he forgot that Jeremy and I were behind the big blue curtain and could hear his play-by-play commentary. Thank heavens we didn't hear any cussing or other alarming outbursts. :-)

Jeremy got some video footage of them taking her out. I have not watched it yet. This is definitely something for a much later time. I'm not up for viewing my own guts right now.

Big Brother
Rowan has been the sweetest big brother. He seems okay with having a new baby around so far. I think it helps that she can't mess around with his toys. If she did, I think things wouldn't be as peaceful. He is fascinated by the breast pump and Raleigh's belly button. He likes to give her kisses - which totally melts my heart.

Party of Four
So, we're a family of 4 now. It's still a little weird for me to say "I have two children." That sounds so grown up, like something that other people are or do. For now, we're taking things one day at a time. It will be interesting and fun to see what kinds of adventures and learning experiences each week brings.
