A few minutes ago in the tub... Rowan put two rinse cups over his chest and said, "I'm pumping milk." He said he was pumping milk for baby Raleigh to drink. I can only imagine the stories he tells at school.
Earlier this evening... I was watching a Friends re-run in which Joey is dressed as Dr. Drake Ramore. Rowan pointed to him and said, "There's a doctor with a stethoscope." I asked him what you do with a stethoscope and he said "chest and back". Then he got a flat spoon from his play kitchen and held it up to his chest. He followed me in to the kitchen and put the spoon stethoscope on my back. How smart is this kid?
I asked Rowan what he wanted to eat for breakfast, giving him the usual options: pancakes, waffles, cereal? He replied that he would like noodles with green beans and some grapes. I am glad to see that I have raised a good eater and an excellent meal planner. :-)
The other night my parents brought us dinner. I had told Rowan that he could have a surprise for dessert. I asked him if he could guess what the surprise would be. I thought he would say birthday cake or ice cream. Instead, he had us all laughing when he said - very excitedly - GRAPES!? Oh, the innocence of children. The surprise was peach cobbler with ice cream but I gave him a few grapes too. How could I not?
