Top 10 Surprises

I've been thinking about how much my life has changed in the past year and thought I share a few of the things that have surprised me about pregnancy and motherhood. These are in no particular order.
  1. I would have never thought that 6 hours of sleep would be so luxurious.
  2. Being spit up, peed, and pooped on isn't that bad - provided it comes from your baby.
  3. Time flies by so fast when you're taking care of a baby. (Why can't work go by that fast?)
  4. If you are not a social or gregarious person, don't leave the house with your baby. I've had neighbors who I have waved to for years that only started waving back once I started walking with Rowan.
  5. Doctors don't know everything. Trust your instincts when it comes to your body or your baby and be firm with them. Either that, or lie. :-)
  6. Just when you think you can't love your baby any more, another day passes and your love expands even further.
  7. One of the most magical sounds on earth is your baby's laughter - especially those deep belly laughs!
  8. Breastfeeding is more difficult than you think it will be. It's also pretty cool to make your own baby food.
  9. Some days you won't recognize your own body.
  10. Single parents must be superhuman. Jeremy and I have a hard time sometimes. I cannot imagine doing this by myself.
Edit: I thought of one more thing... How gratifying it is for your baby to burp.

It´s wonderful to read your comments, especially number 6: Just when you think you can't love your baby any more, another day passes and your love expands even further.
