We've been having a great time in the Big Potato. How could we not? The weather is terrific, as expected. I got him some sunglasses at Target yesterday since he reacts to sunlight like a vampire. He also has a sun hat from his friend Wyatt so we're all set for some fun in the sun or a party on the patio.

Sunshine State
This past Saturday we drove down to Florida to stay with G-Mom and G-Daddy for the week. Jeremy drove us to Tifton where we met Dad. We swapped cars and Dad drove us down to Apopka. Rowan was great in the van. He slept the whole way except for the pitstop at the Pilot truck stop. He got to experience lots of firsts there. He heard a Harley crank up and drive off, saw a firetruck zoom by with all the lights flashing and sirens wailing, and witnessed his first drug deal. Awww.

Fun Guy
Rowan makes us laugh every day. For such a small guy he's got a great sense of humor and comedic timing. Here's a collection of some of my favorite funny moments.
- Sometimes when Rowan is drifting off to sleep he'll chuckle to himself. It is so funny and precious! We've tried several times to record it, but the stinker won't do it for the camera.
- I was trying to get Rowan to settle into a nap by rubbing his back. I thought I'd turn it into a learning moment by writing his name on his back. I told him all the letters and read his name aloud. I said, "Rowan Lucas Miller, that sounds so distinguished!" He responded with a rather loud comment from the diaper area. Nice. Maybe he thought I said "dis-stink-wished."
- Rowan's social security card came in a few weeks ago. Jeremy jokingly said, "Cool. I think I'll open a line of credit in his name." Rowan cut his eyes to the side and pursed his lips as if to say "Think again, buddy, or you'll be taking a ride on the pain train."
- Other things he finds funny: foot massages, ceiling fans, cheerleading, getting his booty fanned, having his neck kissed (neck monster game), and "accidentally" whizzing outside the diaper - especially if it gets on me
He's pretty entertaining now. I can't imagine what he'll be like in a few months!

2-month Milestones
Rowan had his 2-month doctor visit yesterday. He is now 12 pounds, 10 ounces and 24 inches long. I knew he looked bigger, but I would never have guessed that he grew 4 inches in the past month. Whew! He also got the first round of vaccines yesterday. He took them like a champ. He let out a small yell after the shot, but that was it. I think it helped that Jeremy was holding him.
Today, he has a stuffy nose. Bummer. He's been pretty good about having his nose suctioned out. I dread the day he decides that the suction thing, well, sucks. :-)
On a brighter note, Rowan has been sleeping really well during the night. He's been out for at least 5 hours in a row for the past few nights and he's been napping well, too. When he's awake, he's a lot more alert. He loves tummy time and thinks he can crawl. He also loves standing.
My baby's getting so big!

Happy Birthday, Rowan!
Rowan is now 8 weeks old. I've said it before but it warrants at least one more mention: time has really flown by! He's changed so much since February. He's bigger for one thing. And he's a lot more engaging. I imagine that he'll become more wonderful as time passes. (I'm such a mom. The next thing you know, I'll be wearing capri pants. Wait a minute... I already have a pair!)
Jeremy is going to a fishing tournament this weekend so my parents are coming to stay with me and Rowan. It took all of 2 seconds for them to agree to come up. :-) My Granny and my aunt Beverly are also coming for a visit. It's kind of weird to think that there will be 4 generations of Wilsons in the house. We'll definitely have to take some photos of this momentous event.

Goings on
Rowan is getting to be so fun! He laughs and smiles a lot now, especially when Jeremy tries to kiss his neck. I call it the neck monster game. He also had his first bathtub bath the other day. (Yes, we have cleaned him prior to this. It's just been too cold for the bathtub experience.) Anyway, he loved it. I thought he might try to cut a shine but he did great.
The music experiment continues. He really likes 70s funk and R&B. He was napping on the couch with me earlier while I was answering e-mails. I had the TV on the classic rock channel and Neil Young came on. He started fussing. What's his beef with Neil Young? I guess this Southern man don't need him around. :-)
We've taken more photos of Rowan and a video. They will be posted soon. Sorry for the delay. We've had some technical difficulties.
